Bongin Bongin Bay is a beautiful, natural basin tucked away on the northern side of Mona Vale Beach, just beyond the rock pool. Locals know it as The Basin—a peaceful, protected spot that offers a calm contrast to the busier surf beach next door.

Framed by sandstone rock platforms and known for its clear, gentle waters, the bay is a favourite with ocean swimmers, beach walkers, and marine life lovers alike. It’s part of the larger Mona Vale Beach reserve, a kilometre-long stretch of coastline that’s perfect for walks, swims, and soaking up those classic east coast sunrises.

The bay is full of life - beneath the surface you’ll find reef systems, seagrass beds, and a rich variety of fish. It’s a popular spot for a swim, snorkel or a quiet float, and many call it a hidden gem of the Northern Beaches.

Whether you’re here for a swim, a stroll, or just to breathe it all in, Bongin Bongin Bay is a place to slow down, reconnect, and appreciate the magic of the ocean. We’d love for you to visit - and help us protect this special part of the world.
